The Caliber 40 is a modern, two-cabin layout with a beautiful hand-rubbed teak interior. There is abundant storage throughout the boat in cedar lined lockers, drawers and cabinets.  This particular boat has been upgraded to all Corian counter tops and has beautiful off-white ultra-leather upholstery.  Numerous upgrades include but are not limited to full boat Hurricane heating with on demand hot water, SiriusXM stereo, cockpit cushions, red courtesy night lights, and a custom dodger and bimini.  The headroom is 6'4".

The interior layout starts with a spacious head and separate stall shower forward. Continuing aft, the master stateroom has a Pullman-style, offset double berth on port with lockers and drawers under. Opposite on starboard is more storage and a small vanity with mirror.

The salon features a 6 foot, 5 inch, L-shaped settee to port that converts to a berth, and a straight settee to starboard. A dinette table that folds down from the bulkhead unites those settees to seat six comfortably for dinner.

Continuing aft there is a guest head on starboard followed by the guest stateroom which has a double quarter-berth.  On port aft is the L-shaped galley with a sit-down, outboard facing chart table aft of the galley.

  • The SE series offers an all-teak interior and the following improvements:
  • Cabinet doors with positive locks and louvered teak battens for ventilation
  • Passageway doors redesigned with solid teak frames, teak panel inserts and teak batten louvers
  • Passageway doors upgraded with high quality marine handles and locks
  • Built-in overhead SkyscreenTM hatches with flush mounted rollaway screens and sun shades
  • Improved cabinet storage in head
  • Corian countertops
  • Teak batten hull liner throughout interior
  • Improved companionway steps
  • Improved cabinetry in galley including custom installed microwave oven
  • Improved icebox design with greater insulation and gas-assisted lift on icebox lid
  • Higher fixed sea rails throughout on all countertops
  • Extra spot lights added in cabins for reading

Good light is provided by 12 stainless steel, opening ports. An additional two vents, seven hatches, and two dorades provide ventilation as well.  Spacious and well laid out for entertaining, the cockpit is also deep and safe at sea.

The L-shaped galley is aft of the salon on the port side.  It features a double stainless steel  sink with pressure hot and cold water, Corian counter tops, and abundant storage in cabinets and drawers.  The stove is a propane three burner Force Ten Stainless steel model with oven. Refrigeration is in a top-loading box with a 12V Adler Barbour super cold compressor.  Hot water is on-demand from the 6 gallon tank with circulating system.  A Tappan microwave is mounted above the stove.

Hull and Deck Equipment

A modified fin keel with skeg-hung rudder makes the Caliber 40LRC exceptionally responsive and quick, with outstanding directional stability even through pounding seas. Because she has an unusually large displacement for a boat of her size, the Caliber moves steadily in heavy seas, and because of her high ballast-to-displacement ratio, the Caliber is very stable (and therefore safe) in rough water. Much of the Caliber's weight is due to her superior construction and not just added ballast, so Caliber owners can be extra certain that their boat can take what the sea dishes out. Other builders may extol their use of exotic new building materials to save weight, but Caliber Yachts sticks with hefty, hand-crafted lamination - a time-tested construction method that provides layer upon layer of strength against tough offshore conditions. It's the reason why the Caliber 40LRC feels so solid - and why Caliber Yachts guarantees its hulls for life against structural defects to the original owner. Caliber Yachts are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a watertight collision pocket and a rudder post dam are designed to minimize flooding
